2 Hour Delay Information
If a 2 hr delay is called your child's bus pick-up time will be 2 hrs later than normal.  (For example, if your child's bus normally arrives at 7:10, then on a 2 hr delay the bus should arrive at 9:10).  Students may enter the building at 9:30 and the tardy bell will ring at 9:45.  NO breakfast will be served on 2 hr delays.

Absence Reporting
The attendance line is available 24 hrs a day.  To report an absence please call 317-745-2610 ext. 1007, or email the office at  Please be sure to include the following:  your child's name, grade and teacher, date of absence, the reason for the absence, and your name and relationship to the child.
Change of Destination
If you know your child will have a change of destination, please send a note in to the teacher and/or call/email the main office at 317-745-2610 or  If a change comes up during the day, please notify the office prior to 1:30 pm.
If your child attends PACE afterschool and you have made a destination change, please notify PACE that your student will not be attending for that day.  You can email Malynn Hearon at

Notification Calls for Low Cafeteria Balances
Our school reach system will notify you with important information relevant to your child/children. Courtesy computer-generated calls are made to all students with $5.00 or less in their cafeteria account. Money may be added on-line by clicking the EFunds for Schools link on our website or you can send a check or cash with your child for deposit. To access your child's purchases, log on to Harmony. Please contact Becki Gibbs, Food Services Director, at 317-745-0366 with questions.

Smoke Signal - North and South Elementray combine a monthly newsletter.  The newsletter will go out on the last Friday of every month.  Please let the office know if your email address has changed,  so that you will continue to receive important information from the school.
Breakfast/Lunch Costs for 2015-16-  Students may purchase a grab-and-go breakfast from our cafeteria for $1.50.  The price of student lunches this year is $2.45.  The cost for an extra milk is $.50.
On-Line Payment Option for Parents - e~Funds for Schools is an optional, user-friendly service that offers various options for parents/guardians who choose to make on-line payments for textbooks and cafeteria purchases via a secure website.
Be sure to check out the Danville Schools' website for access to this new feature that can help you eliminate your check writing hassles!

Criminal History Checks - If you are planning on attending a field trip this school year you must fill out a criminal history check.  Please ask your child's teacher for the form.  Return the criminal history check to the teacher two to three weeks prior to the field trip. 

Custodial/Non-Custodial Parents
In the case of divorce, or separation, we will provide access to both custodial and non-custodial parents, unless there is a legally binding document on file in the school office which specifically remove's that parent's rights.
A legally binding document is a court order or other legal paper that prohibits access to education records, removes the parent's rights to have knowledge about his or her child's education, visit the school or pick the child up from school.
Parent Access.  Parents can now access their children's attendance, food service account, and more.  Parents should have recieved account information via email.  Click the blue HARMONY link located at the top and bottom of any web page to log in.
