Summer Food Service Information

Summer 2025 Grab-and-Go Meals

***Households MUST have pre-registered in order to receive meals.***                                            (We are not taking any more registrations for meals at this time as we had to pre-order many food items for this program)

***Only parents/guardians are allowed to pickup meals.  Children do not have to be present in the car to pickup meals.***

  • WHERE: Distributed from Danville Community Middle School
    • Following parent pickup traffic pattern (see picture below)
  • WHEN: Every Monday, from June 2nd-July 28th
  • TIME: 4pm-6pm
  • WHAT: 7 days worth of pre-packaged breakfasts AND lunches with Monday's meal being a hot meal
    • Cooking instructions will be provided with items that need to be heated.
    • Milk will come in half-pint cartons.   A SPECIAL thanks to Habit of the Heart for donating gallon pitchers to our families so that these half pints of milk can be condensed to a single pitcher to save families room in their refrigerator.
*** A reminder will be texted on Mondays to registered households so that they remember to pickup their meals.  Households who continually miss pickups may be asked to refrain from the program so other families can have the meals.

What to expect during the first meal pickup:

- You will receive 7 days worth of breakfasts and lunches for each child.  Please clear room in your refrigerator and freezer for these items.

- Habit of the Heart, a local charity, donated gallon pitchers that we will distribute to every household with 2 or more children.  Since each child will receive 14 cartons of milk, these pitchers will help make room in your refrigerators by allowing many milk cartons to be combined into one pitcher.  You will receive one pitcher for white milk and one pitcher for chocolate milk.

-There will be a set of food service employees verifying household information and a set of employees distributing the food.

  • We will first verify your household information (guardian name, student name(s), if they attend LWLC or PACE, and household address).
  • Once the info is verified, you will be given a laminated card with a number representing how many children you need meals for.  Please display this card in your dashboard, as it allows for the employees handing out bags to easily identify how many to grab.  Please keep this card in your glovebox and display it each Monday that you pick up meals.
  • Once your info is verified and you have your card, you will pull forward to receive your meals.  Each child will receive 5 bags of food, divided into freezer items, cooler items, and dry goods items. We will also be distributing a hot meal for supper for Monday's meal.

-If your child attends LWLC or PACE, you will only receive meals for the days that they did not attend these programs.  We have cross-referenced schedules with LWLC/PACE and will have these bags of food labeled with your child's name.

-Please be patient with the staff working the meal pickup as this is the first time we are operating the program.  Our food service staff has spent numerous hours planning this program and it is our goal to make it as efficient as possible.  We appreciate your understanding and patience.
