About LWLC:

Welcome to the Little Warrior Learning Center, a preschool at Danville North Elementary designed for children who have turned 3 or 4 before August 1st, 2024 and who are potty-trained. Our program is academically-focused, play-based, and is designed to prepare students for kindergarten while instilling a love of learning in our preschoolers.

With our preschool housed inside North Elementary, your preschooler has an excellent opportunity to prepare for future success as they enter their elementary education career. Unique experiences like in-house field trips, visits to our related arts classes (library, art, music, PE), participation in events with North Elementary, reading with second graders and even eating lunch in the cafeteria prepare preschoolers for a smooth transition to kindergarten. 

The instructional part of the day includes a balance between play-based learning and curriculum based on the Foundations to the Indiana Academic Standards for Young Children from Birth to Age 5.  LWLC uses HighScope, a play-based learning curriculum, the Second Step program for social-emotional learning, as well as Learning Without Tears for early reading, writing and math skills. 

Our preschool offers the following programs:

• Full Day (8:00 a.m. to 2:10 p.m instructional time)
  • Five days 
  • Three days (M, W, F)
  • Two days (T, Th)
• Half Day (8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.)
  • Two days (T, Th)

  Before and after-school care is available for each of our full-day programs. Before-school care is from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and after-school care is from 2:10 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Before and after-school care is not available for our two half-day programs.
