Driving for DCSC means that you are committed to providing safe, timely and reliable transportation to our most precious community members. Our paid training program offers personalized service to ensure you have the experience and confidence needed to become a member of the best transportation team in the area!
There are a few steps that you will need to do on your own before we start the training process:
- Submit an application on our website, and be sure to select Full Route Bus driver (LInk)
- Study - Study - Study!
- The next step is to take and pass the 4 tests outlined below; so study the sections below in the Indiana CDL Manual to prepare for taking the tests needed to obtain your CDL driving permit.
- General Knowledge (Sections 1, 2, 3, 11, 12 & 13)
- Passenger (Section 4)
- Air Brakes (Section 5)
- School Bus (Section 10)
- Go to your nearest BMV and take and pass the tests above.
- Obtain your CDL Physical (Contact our office to obtain location information) This will need to be completed before the BMV will award you a CDL permit.
- After you obtain your CDL physical and pass the tests above at the BMV, you will be given a CDL permit from the BMV. You will contact our office to schedule a meeting time to get started on your training! Make sure you bring your permit and a copy of your physical with you to this meeting!
