North Elementary Renovations
Throughout 2021 and 2022, Danville Community School Corporation made a series of upgrades to North Elementary School (DNE), which houses the district's kindergarten through second-grade students, along with students from the Little Warrior Learning Center and students in the developmental preschool program. The project's scope included window replacement, LED lighting, ceiling grids, carpet, wall coverings, and mechanical systems upgrades, among other items. Most importantly, the project also included the installation of a secure vestibule to provide safe building entry and the addition of a multipurpose room to be used for childcare, group instruction, cafeteria overflow, and staff training.
South Elementary New Classrooms and Front Office
During the 2023-2024 school year, South underwent a remarkable transformation with an exciting renovation and expansion! The back section now has 14 state-of-the-art classrooms, modern new bathrooms, a freshly designed workroom, and more. But the journey doesn’t end there—our construction team is now shifting focus to renovate older classrooms, giving them the same sleek design and cutting-edge technology.
In addition to the exciting classroom renovations, the 2023-2024 school year marked the completion of our brand-new front office! This impressive space now houses offices for the principal, assistant principal, nurse, and counselor, along with modernized work areas designed for both teachers and students. A standout feature of the new front office is its enhanced secure entry system, which ensures that visitors must be buzzed in by our front office staff before accessing the building beyond the front vestibule. It's a big step forward in creating a safer, more functional, and welcoming environment for everyone!
South Elementary New Cafeteria and Specials Spaces
During the summer of 2024 and the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year, South saw the unveiling of several exciting new spaces! The music room received a stunning renovation, a brand-new art room was completed, and the expanded cafeteria is now up and running, offering a vibrant and functional space for students to gather. Additionally, our new Behavior Support Room is already making a meaningful difference, providing a soothing and supportive environment for students who need a calming space.
DCHS Bus Lot
While it might seem like a smaller project compared to our larger renovations, the new DCHS bus lot is a game-changer for our school! Completed in the summer of 2024 and in use ever since, this dedicated space separates buses from student, staff, and visitor parking areas, dramatically improving traffic flow and enhancing safety during arrival and dismissal. This thoughtful upgrade is making a big impact on our daily operations and ensuring a smoother experience for everyone!
DCHS Athletic Office
Danville Community High School is buzzing with transformation, with nearly every corner under construction in some way, shape, or form! Beginning during the 2023-2024 school year, work has been underway in the hallways, cafeteria, new classroom wing, and beyond. One of the first exciting projects to be completed was our brand-new athletic office, strategically located at the athletic entrance. This impressive space now houses our athletic director, assistant athletic director, and athletic secretary and includes a conference room and a great space for athletic photos, perfect for capturing moments like signings and awards. We can’t wait to see the rest of these amazing renovations come to life!
