    Dear Parents, Guardians and Stakeholders,

It is with great optimism, high expectations, and pride in our school community that I welcome you and our students to the start of an excellent 2017-18 school year.   I hope that your family experiences this summer have been fun, rewarding, and will serve as an inspiration to your school year.  Whether you are a Danville family of many generations, a welcomed new addition to our community, or a local student transferring into the district (yes, we welcome out of district transfer students) we thank you for choosing to entrust your child’s education to the Danville Community School Corporation and wish you a successful upcoming year!

This year you may note a few improvements as you arrive back to school.  We have adopted new Science curriculum for our students that will be distributed at the beginning of the year.  Our campuses are being improved as repaving is occurring at Danville South Elementary and Danville Community High School.  Visitors to the high school campus will also notice a new digital school sign at the entrance to Warrior Way proudly displaying school information.  Furthermore, we will all welcome several new staff members as we return to school!  We are excited about how these improvements will enhance the learning environment.

Additionally, in an effort to continually provide the safest school setting possible, Danville Community Schools have approved a new school safety plan that will be implemented district-wide this fall.  At Danville Community Schools, we want to make a positive difference in the lives of young people.  Thank you for partnering with us to help us better serve you and your child(ren).  Please know that you may contact me via e-mail or phone should you have a question, or suggestion for ways that we can improve our service to students and families.

Welcome back and thank you for being the Difference in Danville!

    Sincerely,
